Got my keys on friiiiDAY...
Started moving satuuuurDAY....
..and again on sunnnnnDAY...
...and then on muuuunDAY....

The movers, however, but an end to this little ditty.

THAT rant will be my next uninteresting segment in the blog.

But I thought you'd all love to know that I'm finally going to be able to haunt my very own home!

The voices in my head

That right....this email is going to be a quick rant about the voices in my head.  I wish I could say I really suffered from some form of medical backed insanity - but this is just my conscience talking to me.  HOWEVER, that sucker is REALLY LOUD!!!!

This morning at 1:00 it was saying things like "get up and turn off the a/c" and "shouldn't you be packing?"  Well, I DID get up and turn off the a/c...and went back to bed.  However, after an hour of hearing "you should be packing...do your dishes...what if you don't get your keys in time???" playing on the eight track (oh yeah, I can reference out dated but continous looping technology) that is my brain I was up.

Yup, 2:00AM saw me doing the dishes, much to the delight of my cat.  Apparently she couldn't sleep either - she's been really weird for the last week or so.  After doing the dishes I started packing, when I ran out of packing material I started shreading - luckily I'd closed the bedroom door so NewGuy didn't get to wake up to the sound of grinding metal teeth.  I moved plants to the middle of the room, packed boxes to the edges...oh yeah, that's progress baby!  It looks better and hopefully will motivate me to finish the job.

And, after much consideration (basing those thoughts on LAST years July move) and many offers, I've booked a moving service to move me.  For three men for four hours it'll cost me roughly $50 more than moving myself last year.  After this year's gas hike, I'm probably coming out ahead.  So, I've scheduled to have them come (and me take the day off) on Monday the 23rd.

HOWEVER, yesterday there was a small, tiny, little, insignificant issue with my paperwork.  I had to drive into town (20 minutes away) and sign two papers, one notary and take a thumb print, all of which I did LAST Tuesday and drive back home; THIS was holding up my loan being funded...wanna take a guess at what was wrong?

Time's Up!
Apparently when the docs were emailed from my loan company to my escrow service the FHA documents became shrunk in size.

I read each and every document....it could've only been 80% smaller, tops...I should look.

ANYWAY...FHA WOULDN'T take their documents in that shriveled state and were refusing to process the loan until I came in and signed a full size copy.

Oh yeah...that was it...can you believe it?  I said, foolishly, "couldn't they have just zapped 'em bigger in the Xerox?"  Oh, that would be too easy.  I guess they could say that if the docs were shrunk I could claim, later, that I didn't understand because I could see/didn't read said tiny document...WHATEVER!  Stupid loan funders.

OK, so that leaves my paperwork hand-delivered today to the loan company, HOPEFULLY it will be funded today, which means the property can be filed today/tomorrow and I get keys TOMORROW!!!! What's probably going to happen is that I won't get the keys until next Tuesday...I can't take off Tues-Fri of next week.  *SIGH*

OK...done with this rant.

HEY PEOPLE!!

Calm down...this blog, unfortunatly isn't like network TV, if I don't feel like producing NEW material I can't simply re-post a "re-run" blog entry...nor can I do a montage "remember when I wrote this?" where only 10% of the material is new and the rest is copy/paste from the rest of the blog!  I'm not a machine people. :-D

Anyway, here's the update since the last update, which I just posted today anyway.

They FINALLY got electricity to the house!  I FINALLY got the house inspected!  There were things wrong...but little things..things that are fixable.  Plus I have that flippin' warranty so anything that goes wrong will be fixed!

My loan got approved...how I got the phone call "your loan is approved but they need more paperwork" I'll never know.  How can something be approved if they need MORE stuff?  Anyway, they got their more stuff, which was my shoe size, inseam and latest PAP smear.

Yesterday I went to the escrow company and signed a five inch stack of paper, most of it redundant on how I plan to occupy the property and stuff.  And now I am the proud owner of a Cashier's Check Stub!!! Oh, yeah baby, the big time now!!

I should <fingers crossed> get my keys on Monday/Tuesday, nothing like waiting until the last minute. Ugh - I was hoping to be mostly moved by now.

Anyway -- there's plenty to do, like set up utilities and stuff.

So what does it all mean in the scheme of things? Well, I won't have to move again! Not for the rest of my life if I don't want to!!!! HUZZAH!!! I've moved so many times in the last few years, it'll be good to stay put!  It also means I gotta plan a killer housewarming...otherwise, why would people visit me all the way out here??

Faire 2008 RECAP

I had such a blast!!!! My intention had been to recap each week as we went along, however, on Monday I was recovering from Faire, Tuesday and/or Wed I was doing laundry for Faire, Thurs I was packing for Faire and Friday I was driving DOWN to Faire.  I JUST went to the market this Sunday, it was the first time I did substantial household grociery shopping in about ten weeks...we needed EVERYTHING...it was a pretty big bill. :-\

So...if you see me...ask!

Hey Creepy - why do you suck so bad?

OK, that's really uncalled for people...I mean, just because I haven't posted a blog update doesn't mean I don't still DO them...I've got a BUNCH of blog entries that didn't get posted - and now they probably won't because the information in them is so old. So, here's what's new:

Faire is over, *sigh*, I'll have a posting just about faire - I had a blast and hope to be with my same group again.  There was an after tear-down party at the home of a guild member and I had a great time.  It was a laid back sort-of shin-dig, BBQ with great food and drink and it wasn't THAT far away from my Sis' place, where we were staying.

I should be closing escrow on a house this week...I hope! I'm just waiting for my loan to fund at this point.  I've got MY ducks in a row and am ready to move in, over the next month.

In the same vein....

My landlord's all of a sudden become a much bigger idiot than he was before; before he was just clueless and unwilling to do major maintenance on his house.  NOW, he's demanding I do all sorts of things and threatening me in emails (not bodily harm but "Charges will be made" come on, tell me that's NOT a threat.)  He wants me to shampoo the carpet - yeah, I don't think so, he didn't shampoo it when he moved out; the carpet wasn't cleaned, walls weren't painted and it wasn't even fully cleaned...I only have to return it to the same state as when I moved in.  I can see his point about the lawn, it was "dead" when I moved in, but I let him know his sprinklers weren't working in  Nov/Dec and that I wouldn't water the lawn until they were fixed.  He came out a few weeks back and said that even though some sprinkler heads were broken (they were fine in Nov) that the only reason that I'd use that much water is if the timer was set wrong.  You've GOT to be fucking kidding me.  If I had a broken sprinkler head and a gyser in the middle of my lawn, I would use more water than if all the sprinklers were fine.  ANYWAY...I figure, he's got $1K of mine that was a non-refundable deposit, it was to be used as part of my down payment if I bought the place, but since I didn't, it's his security/cleaning deposit and as such he should use it.  It technically should've been separate, because if I bought the house he'd have to have put it in the escrow account; so if he's spent it, that's not my problem.

The whole thing's got my panties in a knot.

So, I'm packing and shuffling and once again will end up moving stuff before I garage sale it simply because I want to be able to move slowly over time instead of all at once.  Once I get my crud unpacked THEN the garage sale will really begin! Huzzah to the sellers!  Plus I'm more likely to have people come to a garage sale in CalCity than in N. Edwards.

It's CreepyMom's birthday today, she's a year older...woo hoo!  I was told she's going to Disneyland today (who'd have guessed), so I'll probably be down tomorrow to visit her, give her, her goodies and then be on my merry way.  Can you believe she's in her...dun, dun, dun....50's? WOW...I should live to get to that age! *fingers crossed*

What else is new?

CreepyKid's almost out of school, AGAIN...she's only doing it like three more times and then she'll be graduated! Amazing.
NewGuy started his new job today (YEAH!)  Better benefits, more pay and closer to home...how could you argue with a trifecta like that!

And work for me, well, it's been OK, not great...but OK...it pays my bills, but I'm thinking it's time to move on; *sigh* I'm feeling under-appreciated not to mention I'm getting negative criticism, but nothing constructive.  THings like "well, Creepy, people find you condescending and belittling."  "Want to tell me WHO said that?  Or a particular circumstance?  How 'bout any kind of advice?"  Yeah, nope, can't help me with any of that.  Those are valid questions, "who said it?" Because there are people who don't like me in a personal way; "circumstance" because it may have been an easy question that the person then FELT stupid about asking, but I don't make people feel stupid...I would never say "Hey, idiot, did you press the big green box that says 'press here?'"  And I know I've certainly felt stupid when I did something but the person on the giving end never meant it in that way.

Ah well....can't please everyone...and I currently can't leave because my boss has no one to replace me with....must suck to be him.  I think he's trying to fast-track a replacement for me and shuffle me along; but since I've gotten no formal complaints, never had a formal meeting regarding negative behavior nor complaints from my customer about the job I'm doing then I can't be let go; so that's not a worry...I just need to realize I'll be changing fields AGAIN and SOON.

I think that's really all there is, all the words fit to print about this.

Weekend 3 of Faire

My family came to visit good ol' Deptford this weekend.  The stopped by on their way in and then on their way out at the end of the day.  CreepyMom gave me a magnifying glass on a  leather thong...so I could inspect the customers'....equipment.  They had some conversation...I gave them my RUB gift to deliver. :-)  And then, they asked me my character name.  Same as last two years, it's Edith...*gasp* you would do that to your GRANDMOTHER?!!!  Why, yes, yes I would - I think SHE'D think it's funny!  Besides that, there is some implication that this is what I was doing in the military camp anyway...I just get paid more at the Bell. :-)

I switched wigs, to a blonde; yup, CreepyGirl as a blonde!  I would look AWFUL as a blonde in real life, but with the white face makeup it is much more striking...and I have it pulled back better than the Auburn wig. So look for me...blonde...having more fun!

I was able to get Bro his Christmas gift (finally).  I wanted to make him a leather-wrapped tankard; but the tankards I ordered never arrived; I eventually got a refund -- but I wanted the tankards, thank you so much. Ugh.  Anyway, he got a cool, hand hammard, pewter mug with a dragon handle; sure it won't hold as much as a full sized tankard; but it'll hold 8 oz at least and it's COOL.

A co-worker of mine made it out to Faire too!  It was fun seeing him there, he said he had a good time; and he brought his wife.  She's from Germany and since we have a girl that's supposed to be from Germany she stopped and gave her a short lesson on how to say things like: "My love is for sale" and "I am a lady of the evening" she wouldn't teach Elsa to swear.  It's funny Elsa knows how to say "I am a whore" even in sign language.

This weekend we had a little girl come to the Bell and have us sign our names in her Disney autograph album...we did.  The Dad had a good laugh when he read the names...I'll include them at the bottom of this blog entry - you can laugh too.

One of the Ploughboys (they're part of the Washing Well Woman) came by to show us his hoe...it has a merkin, a scarlet letter and a hoe-bag.  In the hoe-bag he's got little charms: crabs, fish, beaver, santa (it's a ho, ho hoe-bag), STD (yes, letter blocks)...he was hilarious.

The other Ploughboy came by and sang us a song for donations about his Willy-I-O. Yeah, it was worth the money...wish he'd come by on Sunday...I would've paid to hear his naughty song about a mermaid.

This week the best patron award goes to an older woman who was being pushed in a wheel-chair wearing oxygen...she STILL came to Faire and dressed her chair up as a ship "The Dirty Gurtie," she was wearing a basket with a crow on her head (crow's nest) and the crow was a HW jobbie so it crowed when you pressed a button...TOTALLY ROCK ON.

Worst Patron award tied...it goes to both the guy who came in green and black striped stockings and two pair of antlers on his head (second weekend I saw HIM) and the pair of fairies that were HUGE men with wigs and teeney tiny wings. *shudder* oh the back hair.

Speaking of back hair...we did get merkins peddaled to us at the Bell - made from the finest  human hair from Italy, loveingly shaved from the finest backs of the FINEST Italian women. :-D

And on that note, I'll let you be!  See you next Weekend for the FAIRE REPORT.

The other life-meat

Ewww...why would I use that as a title?

OK, how's my other stuff doing?  Well, NewGuy and I had our first fight - sorry, just can't tolerate a smoker in my house.  It's all well and good now, so we'll move on.

The house buying stuff is moving along.  I got a thick packet of paperwork from the Escrow company...and boy to I have questions...why can't I just shut up and sign? Guess it's the insurance salesman in me...I HAVE to read EVERYTHING...and so there are questions needed to be answered.  Gotta' book some time with the Escrow Agent.

I spoke with my Loan Officer about my credit rating.  I was worried because I know I've increased my debt/income ratio and didn't want to find out when I tried to close that I didn't qualify any more.  So, like a good CreepyGirl, I called my Loan lady and explained; she ran my credit, said "your debit/income ratio increased..." and that was that...and she left me hanging.  Know how to keep a moron in suspence?

How Has Faire Been?

Well, it's the third weekend of Faire; and although I had planned to talk about weekends 1 and 2 in their own entry, they are quickly fading in a blur.  SOoooo...here's some of the highlights from Faire...mostly what I did that I thought was funny enough to include - but also some of the stuff I saw that was funny as well.  I'm sure weekend 3, since it is fresh in my memory will get its own entry.

In random order, here's some of my own (mayhaps pathetic) brand of funny:

I was given leave to do some country dancing, yup I can kinda' sorta do that (if it's called, like square dancing).  I was dancing with Brown, the male servant at the Bell, and just when I was getting the hang of the third dance we were in, I noticed my skirt was sliding down.  I had it saftey pinned up...but the skirt is REALLY heavy and the pin just let go.  I was trying to move on with the slowly falling skirt, when Brown said "Do you need to step out?" WHAM, had my out...I did a long take to my skirt, which I let fall to hit the ground (keep in mind that sucker's stiff and heavy...the hem hit the ground and the rest stayed standing up, so it didn't puddle at my feet), I grabbed up my skirt and RAN "embarrassed" into the Bell, letting the door shut violentely behind me. Comdey gold..OK, it looses something in the written translation...it works better with sound effects and gestures.

The girls of the Bell were distributing orange ribbons to garner support for Amy Holland (book keeper and sister of the Madam at the Bell) in her court case against Constance Beasly a fine upstanding (and sourpuss) in the town.  (BTW - I absolutly LOVE Constance Beasly - she is every inch a curmodgen and sourpuss...and Donna, our gildmaster plays her as big as anything!) Anyway, Constance's cousin Prudence (also Donna -  on hot weather days) shook me about the front of the town...it was great.  I told her a rumor I had heard about Constance...ridiculous things...she was a Scrumpy Face, her small clothes were in a tight bunch and that it was very scary in that area...plus I heard her snood was on too tight so it squeezed her brain. ;-)  I got to be berated for telling the information for I heard it in confindence during a transaction at the Bell...and when I picked someone I heard it from I selected Pennyworth (he's trying to set up a theater in town) I was "thrown down" because he is a layabout, good-for-nothing. :-)  It was much fun.

OK...the more I type these out the more I'm realizing, it's not as funny on paper.  So, I'll try and make it more lively for ya' in the next entry.

So, what all do I do at the Bell? Well, I sit on the porch and have pictures taken, with guests and without.  People don't know who we are...so they take pictures first and their faces afterwards is WONDERFUL..."you're WHAT?"  We smack talk each other and the patrons and the other people in town....gotta' love rumor mongering, especially when it's in good fun; and the people watching is superb.

OK....It's been a LOOOONG time

Those entries that I typed up and never put out there just don't count.  Maybe I'll post them someday...a retrospective.

Let me try to catch you up on the wonders that are the events of my life....like sands through the hourglass....or something like that.

House:

I found one that I loved. It's got all that I wanted including a space to hide from my kitchen. I'm currently in escrow which should close (if everything goes as is currently planned) 28 May.  It's back in the town I moved from in July - but that's OK, the price was right, the location's good and I'm happy to almost be like a real grown-up.

Faire:

Classes were fun, I always enjoy them; even the BFA, which I still have a hard time doing.  The build was exhausting but fun.  I shouldn't even complain because I did painting and fetching and even working the BBQ; there were people doing actual nailing and sawing and stuff every day.  And if you think it's hot on the ground...try sitting on a red roof for 8 hours at a stretch!

Faire is past its second weekend; I'll probably give you the highlights each weekend in a separate entry...but if I don't post this you'll just think I'm living the high-life in Mexico or something, totally ignoring my poor, little, outdated blog, but to sum it up: creepyKid is having a blast in her new guild; NewGuy is enjoying his part of our new guild, however, his legs are killing him because of his pedal action lathe; and I am having a blast!!!  OK, so I suck at improv, I'm getting better...practice makes perfect, so maybe I'm off to some community college acting classes or something after Faire season.

OK...that's it for now....
